And new movies this weekend…

Brave (PG)– starring the voices of Kelly MacDonald, Craig Ferguson and Emma Thompson
Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous princess. Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the lords of the land. Merida’s actions unleash chaos and when she turns to a Witch for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo the damage before it’s too late. — (C) Disney

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (R)– starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightly
Set in a too-near future, the movie explores what people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand. As the respective journeys of Dodge (Mr. Carell) and Penny (Ms. Knightley) converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten. — (C) Focus
