“Culture is not a costume,” was one criticism hurled at Hillary Duff and her beau, Jason Walsh on Twitter.
The couple attended a Halloween party Friday dressed as a “Native American” and a pilgrim and the Twittersphere lit up with cyber finger wagging.
The couple were accused of cultural appropriation and, on the extreme end, of flat-out racism.
The reaction prompted Duff and Walsh to take to social media, apologizing for their costumes. “It was not properly thought out,” Duff tweeted.
